The school is located at 13340 W. Van Buren Ave., Goodyear AZ. 85338, and has been in operation since April 2010. MAKE’ N THE CUT Barber College is owned and operated by Marshall Knox who is a United States Air Force veteran with multiple years of experience in education and barbering. In addition to being an instructor, Marshall also serves on the Board of the Arizona State Board of Barbers.
Dr.Sonya Willis, Director of Counseling and Student Services, has a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. She has several years of professional training in providing therapy to a wide range of individuals. Furthermore, she is currently an adjunct instructor for Maricopa Community Colleges.
Jacqueline Knox, Administrator and Director of Admissions, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and is a Paralegal with over 25 years of Legal and office management experience. She is in charge of the enrollment process for students, and is responsible for all administration duties for the school.
EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
• To provide students with the most effective skills and current methods in the study of Barbering.
• To prepare students to pass the State Board Exam, in order to be a licensed barber.
• To assists students in being successful professionals in the field of Barbering.
• To provide graduated students with the resources and skills to seek employment in the Barber field.
• To provide graduated students with sufficient skills to become Barber Instructors in the future.
FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT
MAKE’ N THE CUT Barber College consists of 1900 square feet divided into classroom and work area. The school is air conditioned, heated, and specifically designed to provide students with an ideal learning environment. The school has all the appropriate equipment: back-bar, shampoo bowls, mirrors, barber chairs, sinks, and hooded hair dryers. The classroom contains, demonstration area, charts, diagrams, and audio-visual equipment during lecture hours. The college library contains reference sources, as well as current material on new services. In addition, each student is provided with professional quality tools if needed or agreed upon in the contract. Each student will also be assigned an area for his or her personal belongings. However, the school will not be responsible for damage or loss of any items.
